CHER had beautiful blond hair!

Many of my customers come looking for a custom art vase when their horse has transitioned. One such commission came to us through a veterinarian.  Tail hairs were mailed to from their beloved horse, CHER.  Using my potters wheel, I made this sweet vessel, and CHER ‘painted’ the patterns on for us with hairs from her tail.  You can see her name carved into the bottom.

I found this sweet poem that honors those horses who have gone on ahead:

“Somewhere . . . in time’s own space, there must be some sweet, pastured place
Where creeks sing on – and tall trees grow, some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen, I know great horses live again.”

I love how CHAR’s tail hairs get darker towards the end of the tail. CHER’s tail hairs were fired into the vessel walls, making the dark line impression, AND wrapped around the top as well
